AYUSH petitions HC for job under NHRM plan

Unani medico petitions HC for job under NHRM plan

TNN |
Aurangabad: The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay high court recently directed a Unani medical practitioner from Jalgaon to approach the state government with his representation seeking appointment as a medical officer under the National Child Health Scheme.

"Unani practitioner Afaque Ahmed Mohammed Saoar had approached the high court in 2014 seeking to declare medical practitioners belonging to Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy), particularly holders of Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degrees, as eligible for the post of medical officers in the recruitment process," said lawyer Najam Deshmukh, who represented the medical practitioner.

He argued that both BAMS and BUMS degrees are recognized under the Indian Medicine and Central Council Act 1970. "The state government's public health department had issued a communication to the chief executive officers of zilla parishads for implementation of the school health programme under the National Rural Health Mission Scheme. Accordingly, the secretary and commissioner, Family Welfare, had directed CEOs to start selection process for recruitment and implementation of the scheme by recruiting MBBS doctors," said Deshmukh.

They had also made it clear that if MBBS doctors were not available, then BAMS doctors should be appointed.

The bench, comprising Justice S S Shinde and Justice Sangirtrao Patil observed that "The state government is the competent authority and has the exclusive authority to include or exclude any particular qualification for the appointment to the post of medical officer. The petitioner is free to approach the state government on the issue."

No science or scientists are above God

THE HANS INDIA |    Jul 09,2016 , 12:40 PM IST

Men are created by God whether they are a doctor, engineer, advocate or charted accountant or IAS officer or whomsoever they might be is the prime advocacy and argument of all God men and religious leaders. When God is the sole manufacturer of every human being, no human being can be above God, the creator of man. Therefore the gift of God, the AYUSH should not be questioned, doubted or its merit or science needs no validation because AYUSH is above human cognition and comprehension.

The question that plagues human mind is bit fundamental. Why the God who had created all humans is pushing several problems to man and then demanding the man to do prayers, chant mantra/holy book and do several penances to find freedom from his sufferings? Why has God appointed several God men?

All such questions are not allowed in the court of God because whatever the God men like Sadgurus, Swamijis, Saints, Mullahs, Babas, Fathers etc., say are final because they speak nothing but the language of God. The devotees and followers of all such God men also never wanted to ask such questions as they are conditioned and captivated by faith and fear of God.

When faithful followers are available in abundance, anything and everything can be converted not only as gospel truth of God but also as super or supreme science.

Look at the amazing and incredible explanations for the origin of various toxic metals that are used in Ayurveda and Siddha as wonderful drugs. Such explanations not only bars one from questioning the safety of several toxic metals but freeze the mind of the followers even to accommodate such doubts and suspicions.

Let us start with the origin of Gold. According to Ayurveda, Gold has formed from the semen of Agnideva when he got excited after seeing beautiful women. What a demeaning, regressive and denigrating explanation the God men have found for the origin of Gold.

It is for the people to introspect whether the system that has gifted such obscurant and occult explanations worth to be called medical science?  But today, we have given AYUSH all the required legal status, paraphernalia, glory, and garland to celebrate itself as wonderful medical science. The fundamental objection is not against AYUSH but why when AYUSH is promoted as advanced medical science, allow cross pathy, quackery, and back door entry for AYUSH vaidyas in private practice and harm the poor, innocent people in rural India?

The narration for the origin of Copper is no less than that of Gold.

According to Ayurveda, the metal Copper was originated from the semen of Kartikay. The above explanations vindicate not just the perversion of those early God men but it also exposes how eccentric and barbaric their mind was. The Even more shocking fact is that we are promoting such system as medical science. Certainly, AYUSH has several paramedical recipes and we must promote AYUSH therefore for paramedical benefits and not as medical science or diagnosis, drug and cure based system. Producing AYUSH graduates as a doctor is not prudent as when we produce doctors from AYUSH where is drug and science in AYUSH?

The bizarre and grotesque imagination of the God-men did not stop with the origin of Gold and Silver.  They gave another beautiful explanation for the origin of Silver. According to Ayurveda, the tears from the left eye of Mahadeva, Silver originated.

Should we appreciate and applaud our God men more for their wonderful imagination or for such ‘ultra-scientific’ correlation?

According to Ayurveda, the metal Lead was originated from the semen of Vasukinag. Even the snake semen, they did to leave out. The God-men did not stop with the explanation for the origin of the metal - Lead, they also added the list of the goodness of the metal- Lead.

The AYUSH claims that regular use of Lead will give the strength of an elephant, cures diseases, prolong the life and delay death. When Lead can do all such health benefits, why we sell unleaded petrol? Why can’t we enrich petrol with lead and allow the lead to saturate our environment so that all those inhale and ingest lead become as strong as an elephant, live long and free from all diseases?

Our God men and AYUSH pundits also gave a beautiful explanation for the origin of Mercury. It came from the semen of Shiva. According to Siddha, one Mercury based preparation called Rasaghandhi mezhugu (RGM) is claimed to cure about 4000 diseases.

The curiosity purges one question. Why has only semen given metals not urine or other secretary or excretory materials of God?

It is not fiction, imagination or crazy thoughts or fantasy that has propelled all the above narratives but human perversion and suppression of sexual instincts and false pretensions only have made those God men to synthesize all such stories. Generally it is said that cock and bull story never make a cat laugh but unfortunately, all such crazy imaginations of God men got the highest recognition and status in India as medical science. Not just cat, crocodile, and frog also would laugh by all such narratives.

What have we achieved by promoting AYUSH as medical science? This question should shake the conscience of our Nation. When we uphold the mantra Satyameva jayete (सत्यमेव जयते) from the ancient Indian scripture - Mundaka Upanishad in our national emblem, how we can allow AYUSH to exist as a system of medicine, diagnosis, drug and cure based system? Are we not defeating the essence of Satyameva jayete by allowing cross pathy and quackery in the name of meeting the shortage of MBBS doctors in rural India?

Those who show commitment to building Rama temple in Ayodhya, why fail to invoke the Raja Dharma of Lord Rama? Rama indeed did injustice to Sita by asking her to take fire bath purely due to the comment sparked by a single subject about the chastity of Sita? When several people raise questions about the merit and science of AYUSH, why with plenty of truth, still the Government is promoting AYUSH as medical science? Why is the Government unwilling to declare entire AYUSH as paramedical practice and promote it for wellness and paramedical benefits?

When people raise so many questions and doubts about AYUSH, why still Government pledge to gift AYUSH to poor people in rural India. Why in the name of integrating the science less AYUSH, we open back door to AYUSH vaidyas to engage in cross pathy? Why we favour some private AYUSH educational institutions to attract students to join AYUSH course so that they can come out to practice like MBBS doctors with AYUSH degree. Time has come people must wake up to truth.
